Construction is underway! The library expects to open in the new location in September 2024.
On July 11, 2023 the remaining funds needed for the new Searcy Public Library facility project were contributed!! Thank you to our donors, our City, and County, for coming together to accomplish this project fundraising goal. It isn't too late to give a gift! Additional funds will help with the new library's furnishings to serve our Searcy and White County community for many years to come.

- November 21, 2023 - Brick Fundraising Campaign begins and will end March 31, 2024
- November 19, 2023 - White County Quorum Court approves request of $100,000 to be used toward the technology and furnishing needs of the new library
- August 15, 2023 --Groundbreaking Ceremony
- July 12, 2023 - Searcy's City Council contributed the remaining funds needed to the new Searcy library project and approved the bid for the renovation of the new library facility. Construction will begin within the next few weeks!
- July 12, 2023 - the Larry and Janett Crain Charitable Foundation approved a contribution of $386,000 to the new Searcy library project.
- In June 2023, members of Searcy's City Council and the Mayor made individual pledges to the new library project
- April, 2023 - White County Quorum Court approved another $200,000
- Daughters of the American Revolution donate $1,000 for Genealogy Room
- Dec 23, 2022 - Yarnell Family Trust donates $10,000
- Tuesday, Dec 13, 2022, the Searcy City Council designated $1 Million for the new library project. We have raised $5,164,092.83 or 97.44% of the $5.3 M goal
- ARCare presented $110,000 toward the library
- Searcy Rotary Club presented $10,000 toward the library
- Simmons Bank of Searcy presented $25,000 toward the library
- We've entered the Public Phase.
